Casablanca Events & Animations enriches Ramadan with culture and spirituality
Casablanca Events & Animations, in collaboration with the City of Casablanca, presents a vibrant program for Ramadan, blending spirituality, culture, and artistic expression. Central to this initiative is the Quran Recitation and Samaa Contest, showcasing the city’s most captivating voices. Additionally, theater performances, visual arts, and spiritual music will enhance the evenings of the sacred month. This initiative reaffirms Casablanca Events & Animations’ dedication to promoting Moroccan cultural heritage and celebrating the city’s rich identity.
In partnership with the Higher Council of Ulema, the Quran Recitation and Samaa Contest stands as the highlight of the program. Following a selection phase from February 24 to March 4, the competition will run from March 6 to 16, culminating in the grand finale on March 20 at the Administrative and Cultural Complex of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Participants will demonstrate their mastery of sacred recitation and singing, elevating the spiritual essence of Ramadan in an atmosphere of devotion and excellence.
Beyond this major event, Casablanca Events & Animations offers an ambitious cultural agenda. From March 8, theater performances will take center stage in cultural centers across El Fida, Hay Hassani, Ben M’sick, and Maarif, showcasing Moroccan heritage through engaging productions. These performances, merging tradition with modernity, will provide audiences with moments of reflection and discovery. The theater segment will conclude on March 27, in honor of World Theatre Day.
To further promote artistic skills, Casablanca Events & Animations, in collaboration with the Casablanca School of Fine Arts (ESBAC), will host weekend workshops in calligraphy, pottery, and painting. These sessions, led by experts, will offer an immersive experience in traditional Moroccan arts while fostering contemporary creativity.
Additionally, a series of Samaa and Madih music evenings will invite audiences to embark on a spiritual journey through Sufi and Moroccan musical heritage. These performances will begin on March 10 with Saad El Kouhen, followed by artists such as Bilal El Houaj and Brahim Cherif Ouazzani, and will conclude on March 18 with Ali El Madydy.
Through this initiative, Casablanca Events & Animations invites the people of Casablanca to experience a Ramadan where art and spirituality intertwine, fostering moments of contemplation and cultural appreciation. By highlighting Morocco’s rich heritage and encouraging artistic expression in all its forms, this program aims to establish Casablanca as a dynamic cultural hub throughout the holy month.
