Drone drug trafficking ring dismantled in Tetouan

Authorities in Tetouan, Morocco, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), have dismantled an alleged criminal organization involved in international drug trafficking using drones.

The operation, carried out on the evening of Wednesday, November 5, led to the arrest of two individuals, aged 20 and 25, caught in possession and distribution of narcotics. During searches, investigators seized 26,550 psychotropic pills of various types and 235 grams of cocaine.

Authorities also confiscated ten drone batteries, believed to have been used to transport drugs across border checkpoints. The suspects are currently held in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor while investigations continue to determine the full scope of their activities and identify potential accomplices.
