Moroccan police at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested on Saturday a 24-year-old French national of Algerian origin who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judiciary.

According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the man was flagged in Interpol’s international database, which revealed that he was wanted under a red notice issued by Interpol Paris for alleged involvement in a criminal network and illegal possession of explosive materials.

The suspect has been placed in custody pending extradition procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. The Interpol Rabat National Central Bureau, part of the DGSN, has notified its French counterpart of the arrest, the same source added.

This operation underscores Morocco’s commitment to international judicial cooperation and its active role in combating transnational organized crime.
