Hakim Ziyech appears increasingly likely to remain with Wydad Athletic Club for another season, as preparations for the upcoming campaign continue.

According to information reported by local sports media, the Moroccan international still enjoys the confidence of the club’s management as well as strong support from Wydad supporters. Despite recent reports suggesting uncertainty over his future, the current indications point toward the attacking midfielder continuing his spell with the Casablanca-based club.

Ziyech reportedly had a minor disagreement with members of the club’s new medical staff. However, the matter was quickly resolved and is not expected to have any impact on his future with the team.

Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri is also said to have held discussions with Ziyech regarding his situation. The talks reportedly included the possibility of extending the player’s stay, with the club currently leaning toward keeping him for an additional season.

Reports claiming that the Wydad president does not want to retain the player have also been dismissed by sources close to the club. Such speculation has been described as harmful to the team, particularly given Ziyech’s popularity among supporters and his standing within the Wydad community.

Although the player did not feature consistently last season, his performances and statistics were reportedly considered sufficient to demonstrate that he can still make a contribution to the squad. His potential value to the team is therefore not being assessed solely on the number of appearances he made.

Ziyech remains one of the most popular figures among Wydad fans and is reportedly among the few experienced players from the club’s previous generation whose continued presence is widely supported.

If an agreement is finalized, Ziyech would have another opportunity to contribute to Wydad’s sporting ambitions while continuing his career in Moroccan football.
