Kenya is turning to Morocco for expertise in combating cybercrime, according to a statement made by Kenya's Attorney General, Renson Ingonga, during a meeting on August 7 with the Moroccan ambassador, Abderrazzak Laassel, in Nairobi.

During the meeting, Ingonga praised Morocco’s significant progress in digital forensics and emphasized that this area has become a top priority for Kenya. He stressed that the Moroccan-Kenyan partnership continues to play a crucial role in promoting shared justice goals, particularly in tackling organized transnational crimes.

The Kenyan official also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in combating corruption and economic crimes, calling for more experience-sharing initiatives between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Laassel described the bilateral relationship as “mutually beneficial,” reaffirming Morocco's commitment to furthering this dynamic through technical assistance, joint training programs, and the exchange of best practices.

The two parties reviewed progress made under the 2023 Memorandum of Understanding, which created a framework for collaboration in judicial reform, capacity building, and the fight against organized crime, including terrorism and financial crimes.

They also agreed to intensify cooperation in continuous training programs for prosecutors in both countries. The meeting was held at the office of Kenya’s Attorney General.
