Mauritania streamlines visa process for Moroccan commercial drivers
In a significant development for regional transportation, Mauritania has introduced a three-month multi-entry visa for Moroccan professional drivers engaged in international road transport. This new measure, announced by the Moroccan Embassy in Mauritania, applies to drivers operating between Morocco and Mauritania, as well as those traveling through Mauritanian territory to reach West African and Sahel countries.
Professional drivers and international transport company owners can now submit their applications through Mauritania's electronic visa platform, where they need to identify themselves specifically as "professional drivers." This streamlined process replaces the previous system that required drivers to obtain a new visa for each entry into Mauritania, which had created operational challenges.
The Moroccan Embassy expressed gratitude to Mauritanian authorities for their swift implementation of this practical solution, which is expected to facilitate smoother cross-border transportation operations in the region.
