Moroccan Officials Convene to Ensure Successful Nationwide Census Operation
In accordance with Royal Instructions, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a pivotal meeting on Monday focused on the upcoming 7th General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH), scheduled for late summer. Joining him were Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of Interior, and Ahmed Lahlimi Alami, High Commissioner for Planning, emphasizing the significance of this nationwide endeavor.
During the gathering, Akhannouch emphasized the Royal Letter's content, which delineates overarching guidelines to ensure the operation's success. All stakeholders have embraced these high-level directives, pledging unwavering commitment to achieving a milestone that aligns with the Sovereign's aspirations.
"The government will spare no effort in providing the necessary means to ensure the full success of this nationwide undertaking and its timely execution, in accordance with the Royal Instructions," affirmed Akhannouch. He underscored the census results' importance in shaping public policies and aligning programs with citizen needs.
Emphasizing the comprehensive mobilization of human and logistical resources, the Head of Government called on all concerned administrations, public establishments, and decentralized services to demonstrate serious engagement and close coordination as per Royal Instructions, essential for the census's success. He stressed that the census "constitutes an essential mechanism for profound understanding of the demographic and socio-economic evolution of the Kingdom and the development of relevant policies at both national and local levels."
The meeting addressed practical arrangements related to the census operation, guided by High Instructions from the Royal Letter addressed to the Head of Government.
As Morocco prepares for this nationwide effort, collaborative efforts among key officials and unwavering commitment to executing Royal Directives underscore the paramount importance placed on obtaining accurate and comprehensive data. This data will serve as a foundation for informed decision-making and policy formulation tailored to the evolving needs of Moroccan citizens across all regions of the Kingdom.
