Morocco Accelerates Towards a Digitally Enabled Future
In a resolute proclamation, Morocco's Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, asserted that the kingdom is on the brink of profound and transformative change through the comprehensive digitization of public services. Addressing top government officials and academics at the esteemed National School of Administration, Mezzour painted a vision of a streamlined, efficient, and transparent administration empowered by technology.
The minister emphasized substantial progress already achieved, noting that over 300 online services are now available to citizens, 200 for businesses, and almost 100 digitized processes within the government itself. From tax payments to legal filings to foreign trade, she shared success stories that are effectively reducing bureaucratic hurdles and delivery times. However, Mezzour made it clear that more urgent action is needed to fully realize the potential of digital transformation across all state departments.
In outlining Morocco’s digital blueprint, she aligned government goals with the economic and social development directives set forth by King Mohammed VI. Mezzour’s rallying call was met with enthusiasm by representatives tasked with implementing reforms. The conference marked a watershed moment, solidifying Morocco’s commitment to delivering on its ambitious vision of accessible, reliable public services for all through an administration powered by technology.
As Morocco accelerates towards a digitally enabled future, modernizing at pace with global peers, citizens and businesses can anticipate streamlined procedures, enhanced transparency, and empowerment through round-the-clock access to a next-generation model of e-governance. Under Minister Mezzour’s leadership, Morocco is positioned to demonstrate that digital transformation can drive both efficiency and inclusion across society.
