Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks on Friday in New York with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, both ministers signed an amendment to the 1966 agreement on technical and economic cooperation concerning the activities of German political institutions in Morocco. This renewal highlights the ongoing partnership between Rabat and Berlin, which continues to evolve more than five decades after the original accord.

The discussion also reaffirmed the two countries’ shared commitment to strengthening dialogue and collaboration within multilateral frameworks, particularly in the context of global challenges such as sustainable development, peacekeeping, and regional stability.

The encounter reflects the solid relations that Morocco and Germany have sought to consolidate in recent years, underscoring their mutual interest in building deeper economic, political, and cultural ties.
