Morocco crowned Africa U17 champion after penalty win over Mali
The Moroccan U17 football team clinched the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, defeating Mali in the final through a penalty shootout (4-2) after a 0-0 draw in regular time. The match, held at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia on Saturday, saw goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch shine by saving two penalties during the shootout. This victory marks Morocco's first-ever U17 AFCON title.
Meanwhile, the Ivory Coast secured third place on Friday, overcoming Burkina Faso 4-1 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regular time.
