Morocco Egypt U20 Semi-final Clash Details
The Moroccan U20 national team faces Egypt this Thursday, May 15, at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium in the semi-finals of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations. Both teams, having secured qualification for the upcoming U20 World Cup in Chile, aim to advance as far as possible in this tournament.
Statistics favor Morocco’s Atlas Lions, who topped Group B with seven points after victories over Kenya (3-2) and Tunisia (3-1), plus a 0-0 draw against Nigeria. They then defeated Sierra Leone 1-0 in the quarter-finals.
Egypt’s Pharaohs, meanwhile, had a tougher start, losing to South Africa (0-1) and Sierra Leone (1-4) in the group stage. However, they qualified as one of the best third-placed teams and eliminated Ghana on penalties (5-4) to reach the semi-finals.
Morocco’s coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, said before the match: “Our goal remains unchanged, whether facing Egypt or any other team. We want to reach the final and win it. We are proud of qualifying for the World Cup and bringing Morocco back to this competition after 20 years.”
The players share strong motivation and determination to win this semi-final and bring the trophy home, while acknowledging the challenge ahead.
The winner will face either South Africa or Nigeria in the final.
The match will be broadcast live at 7 PM (GMT+1) on Arryadia TNT, BeIN Sports HD6, CAF TV, and CAF’s official YouTube channel.
