Morocco launches new digital system for professional scholarships
Rabat, September 11, 2025 – Morocco has introduced a new digital system to manage professional scholarships, aiming to streamline processes, ensure transparency, and speed up payments for trainees across the country.
A tripartite agreement was signed in Rabat between the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Businesses, Employment and Skills, the Ministry of Budget, and Barid Al-Maghrib. Al Amine Nejjar, CEO of Al Barid Bank, described the initiative as “a fast, secure, and transparent management system” for scholarship disbursement.
The reform, supported by ministers Younes Sekkouri and Fouzi Lekjaa, aims to digitize procedures, guarantee traceability, and enhance the effectiveness of vocational training. Since 2017, over 222,000 trainees have benefited from scholarships, which have increased from 25,000 to 35,000 annually.
The system relies on a centralized electronic platform coordinated with the Kingdom’s General Treasury, ensuring that payments – maintained in three annual installments – are managed efficiently. Beneficiaries will also receive a free “E-ZY” banking pack, including a no-fee checking account, a personalized Visa card, and access to digital banking services, empowering them with financial tools adapted to modern digital use.
By combining digitalization, transparency, and inclusion, Morocco is modernizing the governance of professional scholarships and strengthening the link between public service and economic ambitions.
