Morocco launches roadshow in China to strengthen tourism ties
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has kicked off its first-ever roadshow in Beijing, marking a pivotal step in strengthening tourism relations between Morocco and China.
The event witnessed robust participation from a delegation of luxury and boutique hotels, travel agencies, and service providers from Morocco. Nearly 100 professionals from China’s tourism sector joined the event, engaging in direct exchanges aimed at fostering closer ties between the tourism industries of the two nations.
Morocco has placed a strong focus on the Chinese market, bolstered by the recent launch of direct flights from Beijing and Shanghai to Morocco in January. Hicham Bellaziz, the ONMT’s chief representative in China, revealed that these new routes are expected to attract an additional 100,000 Chinese visitors by 2025, bringing the total number of Chinese tourists to Morocco to approximately 250,000.
Following the event in Beijing, the roadshow will continue its journey to Shanghai on Thursday, where it will engage with local tourism professionals to further expand Morocco’s presence in the Chinese market.
