Morocco strengthens global anti-corruption role with key committee re-election

Morocco has secured its position on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), with Mohamed Bachir Rachdi, President of the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC), representing the nation.

The re-election took place during IAACA's 14th General Assembly, highlighting international recognition of Morocco's anti-corruption initiatives. IAACA, established in October 2006, supports the implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and facilitates international cooperation among its 180+ members, including law enforcement agencies, anti-corruption authorities, and international organizations.

The association provides training programs, conferences, and platforms for sharing best practices while helping member countries enhance their legal and institutional frameworks for anti-corruption mechanisms.

Morocco's renewed position on the Executive Committee reflects confidence in its national anti-corruption authority and acknowledges its active participation in IAACA's structures, including the African Coordination and Training Committee. The country has reported significant progress in its National Anti-Corruption Strategy, achieving 76% of its objectives.

Key reforms implemented by Morocco include:
- Adoption of the Public Services Code to enhance transparency in public administration
- Simplification of administrative procedures to reduce bureaucratic obstacles
- Introduction of new public procurement regulations for improved transparency in government contracts

This new term will enable Morocco to continue contributing to global anti-corruption efforts while accessing advanced strategies, monitoring techniques, and international cooperation tools.
