Morocco's foreign minister meets Iraqi president ahead of Arab summit

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Nasser Bourita, Morocco's minister of foreign affairs, African cooperation, and Moroccans residing abroad, met with His Excellency President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid of Iraq in Baghdad on Saturday. This meeting took place just before the commencement of the 34th ordinary session of the Arab Summit.

Bourita arrived in Baghdad on Friday to represent His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the Arab Summit, which also encompasses an economic and development summit, underscoring Morocco's active role within the Arab League.

The meeting highlighted the collaborative spirit among Arab nations, with a preparatory gathering of Arab foreign ministers already underway in Baghdad. This session aims to finalize discussions in advance of the key summit, focusing on economic development and regional cooperation. The gathering reflects a commitment to strengthen ties among member states of the Arab League, with Morocco playing a pivotal role in these discussions.

As the summit approaches, the focus remains on fostering unity and addressing shared challenges facing the region. The dialogue initiated in Baghdad serves as a precursor to potential agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation and development among Arab nations.
