Russia-Ukraine: List of Key Events, Day 1,216

The number of casualties from a recent Russian drone and missile strike on Kyiv has increased to 10, including one child. Meanwhile, another Russian drone assault on Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region has left three dead, also including a child, according to regional authorities.

In Russia, two people sustained injuries when a Ukrainian drone struck an apartment block near Moscow early Tuesday. The drone reportedly hit the 17th floor and sparked a fire. Russia stated it intercepted roughly a dozen Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow and the border areas of Kursk and Bryansk overnight.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that a strike on a southern Russian oil depot disrupted supplies to Russian troops stationed in occupied Ukrainian territories.

On the diplomatic front, Russia’s foreign intelligence accused Serbia of selling arms to Ukraine, claiming the weapons were channeled through companies based in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria both NATO and EU members, unlike Serbia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the United Kingdom on Monday, where he held discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London and later met King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

Zelenskyy is expected to attend a NATO summit beginning Tuesday in The Hague. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte reaffirmed the alliance’s consistent support for Ukraine.

During the visit, Zelenskyy and Starmer finalized an agreement to jointly develop long-range drones. These advanced systems will be capable of targeting sites inside Russia. The UK government stated that frontline data from Ukraine will be integrated into British manufacturing, enabling domestic defense firms to swiftly design and produce next-generation military hardware unavailable elsewhere.
