Ryanair Expands Routes to Morocco: New Bournemouth-Agadir Connection
Ryanair, the low-cost airline, is expanding its connections to Morocco. Starting this Monday, April 1st, it will operate a flight linking Bournemouth (England) to Agadir. This new biweekly service will run every Monday and Thursday. Agadir was announced earlier this year as Ryanair's 19th destination from Bournemouth.
This expansion follows a successful 2023 season for the airline, which responded to growing demand by stationing a second aircraft at Bournemouth Airport.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, expressed confidence in the airport's growth trajectory, anticipating over one million passengers for the year 2024. The arrival of Ryanair in Agadir further bolsters this optimistic forecast.
For Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair DAC, the link between Bournemouth and Morocco holds strategic importance in the airline's investment vision. This initiative is part of a substantial $1.4 billion investment planned for Morocco this summer.
Ryanair is committed to facilitating the transport of over five million passengers to Morocco this year, demonstrating its willingness to expand its reach and offer affordable travel options to various destinations.
This decision aligns with Morocco's preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, as part of a joint bid with Spain and Portugal. Ryanair's summer 2024 program anticipates a significant increase in air traffic to, from, and within Morocco.
