Sahara: Parliament to vote following UN security council resolution
The House of Representatives will hold a special session on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM, dedicated to the recent resolution adopted by the UN Security Council concerning the national issue. The announcement was made by the President of the House, who invited all members of parliament to attend this important session, prior to the start of the regular weekly oral questions.
This meeting takes place amid strengthened diplomatic momentum around the Sahara, where the international community continues to recognize the relevance of Morocco’s autonomy plan as a realistic, sustainable, and consensual framework to resolve the issue. The parliamentary debate is expected to examine the implications of the new UN text, particularly regarding the consolidation of international support for Morocco’s position and the political prospects arising from it.
The session is of particular importance as it forms part of ongoing institutional efforts to accompany developments on the matter within international organizations. It will also serve to reaffirm national unity regarding the Sahara, considered a sacred cause and a pillar of regional stability.
All parliamentary groups are expected to participate, demonstrating the national consensus that characterizes Morocco’s position on the diplomatic stage and reaffirming the commitment of institutions to defend the Kingdom’s territorial integrity.
