Morocco takes center stage as the esteemed guest of honor at the 21st edition of SIAL Canada, the prestigious International Food Show. Scheduled to take place from May 15 to 17 at the iconic Palais des Congrès in Montreal, this year's event promises to be a captivating celebration of Morocco's rich and diverse culinary heritage.

El Mehdi El Alami, the Director of Promotion and Development at Morocco Foodex, expressed his excitement about Morocco's return to SIAL Canada. This year, it will feature 18 national exhibitors from Morocco. The latest trade figures reflect this burgeoning economic relationship. Moroccan agri-food exports to Canada reached an impressive MAD 1.5 billion (approximately $149 million) in 2022, a 47% increase from 2019 and a 26% increase from 2021. Agri-food products accounted for 63% of the total value of Morocco's exports to the Canadian market in 2022, highlighting the sector's importance in this growing commercial partnership.

At SIAL Canada 2024, Morocco Foodex will host a series of culinary demonstrations, inviting attendees to experience the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Additionally, business-to-business meetings will be held to facilitate deeper commercial connections and explore new opportunities for collaboration between Moroccan exhibitors and Canadian buyers.
