Women represent 52% of the staff at Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, according to Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni. They hold 57% of director positions, 32% of division head roles, and 57% of service head posts, while women’s participation in training programs has reached 53%, the minister said in a written response to parliament.

El Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted her department’s commitment to gender equality in public administration, noting that the ministry works to “integrate and strengthen the culture of equality between men and women in the civil service, ensuring fair representation in decision-making roles.”

She recalled that since 2016, the ministry has implemented a gender mainstreaming strategy in collaboration with UN Women. This framework aims to promote equal rights and career opportunities for women and men across all public administrations.

Among the measures introduced, the ministry opened a childcare center on February 25, 2025, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, to help women balance professional and family life. The minister said this initiative contributes to better productivity and career sustainability.

El Fallah Seghrouchni also emphasized the ministry’s efforts to promote women’s participation in Morocco’s digital transformation, notably through training and capacity-building programs for female engineers.

Currently, the ministry employs 4 female directors (57%), 10 female division heads (32%), and 29 female service chiefs (57%), figures that, according to the minister, demonstrate “steady progress toward gender parity in the public sector.”

The minister reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening gender equality mechanisms within the civil service, stressing the need for legal, regulatory, and management tools that guarantee equal access to senior and decision-making positions for both men and women.
