Strategic partnership to enhance Liberia's port infrastructure
Tangier Med Engineering, the engineering division of the Tangier Med Group, has established a strategic partnership with the Liberian government to improve the nation’s port infrastructure, marking a significant step in the expansion of Moroccan expertise across Africa.
This collaboration is part of a broader initiative aimed at rehabilitating and modernizing key ports in Liberia, with a particular focus on the Freeport in Monrovia and the Port of Buchanan, among other critical port facilities. The goal is to create a logistical framework that supports economic development and enhances regional connectivity.
The agreement is a crucial milestone in the vision of the National Ports Authority, led by General Sekou Hussein Dokoli, and aligns with President Joseph Nyima-Boakai’s objectives under the ARREST development program. This program prioritizes infrastructure modernization and sustainable development efforts.
Liberian officials highlighted that the agreement followed several months of technical discussions, resulting in a comprehensive redevelopment plan focused on enhancing the country's economic appeal and ensuring long-term growth.
