Strengthening Ties: Moroccan Parliament Welcomes Australian Delegation
On October 30, 2024, at the Parliament House in Rabat, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami, the President of the House of Representatives, engaged in discussions with an Australian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Rowan Ramsey. This visit, which will last until November 2, includes various meetings and field visits aimed at enhancing bilateral relations.
During the meeting, Mr. Talbi El Alami highlighted the dynamic nature of the relationship between Morocco and Australia, reflecting the mutual desire of both nations to forge strong ties and deepen their friendship. He emphasized the significance of the Australian delegation's visit, noting Morocco's strong commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with Australia, which serves as a bridge to the Pacific region.
Mr. Talbi El Alami briefed the Australian delegation on the various aspects of stability enjoyed by Morocco and the significant progress achieved in numerous sectors and major projects under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In response, Mr. Rowan Ramsey expressed that the purpose of this visit is to bolster cooperation and partnership between Australia and Morocco, particularly in vital areas such as renewable energy and agriculture. Members of the Australian delegation, who visited the city of Laayoune the previous day, expressed their admiration for the development witnessed in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region across various fronts and reiterated their support for Morocco's sovereignty over its southern territories.
The Australian delegation includes Mr. Steve Georganas from the Labor Party, Ms. Hollie Hughes and Mr. Michael McCormack from the Liberal Party, and Mr. Warren Entsch from the Liberal Party, all of whom are keen to explore opportunities for collaboration with Morocco.
