Wholesale Trade Outlook: Stability and Growth Expected in Q1-2025
According to the Haut-Commissariat au Plan (HCP), 64% of wholesalers anticipate a stable overall sales volume in the first quarter of 2025, while 28% expect an increase.
This projection is mainly attributed to anticipated growth in wholesale trade of household goods, food and beverage products, and other industrial equipment. Conversely, a decline is expected in the wholesale trade of raw agricultural products and live animals, as noted in the HCP’s latest report on business conditions in the wholesale trade and non-financial market services sectors.
Regarding orders, 74% of business leaders expect a normal level, while 79% predict employment stability in the sector during Q1-2025.
For the local wholesale market in Q4-2024, 36% of wholesalers reported an increase in sales, while 53% indicated stability. This trend was primarily driven by higher sales in industrial equipment, raw agricultural products, and other specialized wholesale sectors.
Employment remained stable for 77% of business leaders, while 86% of wholesalers reported normal stock levels. Additionally, wholesale prices showed overall stability during the period.
