Oujda inaugurates new social and health infrastructures

In Oujda, a series of projects aimed at enhancing social and health infrastructures were inaugurated on Thursday, coinciding with the commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the Royal Initiative for the development of the Oriental region.

These initiatives complement ongoing efforts to bolster social and economic development in the area, guided by the prudent leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with a focus on promoting sustainable development within the Oriental region.

Among the key projects inaugurated was the Sidi Maâfa Youth House, which provides opportunities for youth to flourish through a variety of socio-cultural activities. This facility underwent significant renovations and equipping, necessitating an investment of nearly 4 million dirhams (MDH), made possible through a partnership involving the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Regional Council of the Oriental, and the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development.

Additionally, the Dhar Lamhalla Women's and Vocational Training Center was reconstructed at a cost exceeding 3.7 MDH. This center serves as a training and learning space for girls and women, aimed at facilitating their socio-economic integration and personal development.

Another noteworthy inauguration was the Al Maghreb Al Arabi Reception Center, which spans 1,710 square meters and involved approximately 2.37 MDH in renovations and expansions. This facility, now equipped to accommodate up to 80 guests, is designed to provide quality temporary housing for Moroccan and foreign youth, along with various services, including training sessions, study days, and gatherings to enhance the active role of youth in the social and cultural fabric.

In remarks to the press, Nour Najia, the Regional Director of the Ministry of Youth for the Oriental region, highlighted that these three structures mark significant advancements aligning with the ministry’s strategy to strengthen infrastructure and improve service quality, thereby addressing the needs and expectations of the youth.
