Egyptian aid trucks enter Gaza amid Israeli tactical pause
On Sunday, an Egyptian media outlet close to the government reported that humanitarian aid trucks had begun to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, amid an Israeli-declared “tactical pause” in fighting to allow for the delivery of relief supplies.
According to Al-Qahera News, which published the update on the social media platform X along with footage of aid convoys at the border, Egyptian trucks carrying essential humanitarian assistance started moving into the enclave early in the day.
The announcement comes as Gaza continues to face a deep humanitarian crisis, with widespread shortages of food, medicine, and essential goods. Israel had previously stated that it would implement temporary pauses in military operations in specific areas of Gaza to facilitate humanitarian access.
International organizations have consistently called for the uninterrupted entry of aid into the besieged territory, warning of the worsening conditions for civilians caught in the conflict.
The Rafah crossing, located on the border between Egypt and Gaza, has often served as a critical gateway for aid, especially when other routes are blocked or too dangerous due to ongoing hostilities.
