Embraer partners with Morocco to enhance aerospace supply chain
A high-level delegation from the Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer recently concluded a visit to Morocco, focusing on the nation’s potential to bolster its aerospace supply chain. The company announced the visit's outcomes in a press release on Thursday.
During the trip, Embraer identified numerous opportunities for commercial and industrial collaboration with Morocco, particularly in the realms of commercial aviation, defense, and urban air mobility. Roberto Chaves, executive vice president of global procurement and supply chain at Embraer, noted, “Morocco has a fast-growing aerospace industry, and we’ve identified key suppliers capable of joining our global supply chain. We see strong potential for mutual benefits—both short and long term—driven by innovation and shared economic growth.”
Embraer selected Morocco as a strategic regional partner to develop a robust supply chain network, highlighting the country's expertise in aerostructures, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and composite materials. This partnership may extend to training programs, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, as well as potential collaborations in research and technological innovation.
The visit follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Moroccan government during the Marrakech Air Show in October 2024, aimed at exploring joint projects to strengthen industrial ties between the two parties.
In related news, Embraer’s Executive Jets division reported a record-high backlog of $7.6 billion in its first-quarter results, reflecting a 3% increase over the previous record set in the fourth quarter of the previous year. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Brazil, Embraer is a leading designer and manufacturer of aircraft and aerospace systems, with one of its aircraft taking off somewhere in the world approximately every 10 seconds, carrying over 150 million passengers annually.
