Gaza accuses Israel and US of hiding drugs in humanitarian aid
Gaza’s Government Media Office has accused Israeli and US-backed aid centers of distributing humanitarian aid contaminated with narcotic pills, a claim that has sparked outrage and international concern. The discovery was made in the war-torn enclave, where thousands of Palestinians rely on aid amid ongoing conflict.
Drugs hidden in aid supplies
The media office revealed that pills identified as “Oxycodone,” a highly addictive painkiller, were found hidden inside flour bags distributed through aid centers supported by Israel and the United States. At least four individuals reported finding the pills in their supplies, while authorities warned that some of the flour might have been mixed with the drug, posing an even greater risk to public health.
In a statement published on Telegram, Gaza’s authorities condemned the incident as a deliberate attack on Palestinian society. “We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for this heinous crime of spreading addiction and destroying the Palestinian social fabric from within, as part of a systematic policy,” the statement read. Officials further described the act as a war crime and a violation of international humanitarian law, accusing Israel of waging a “dirty war” against civilians.
Violence at aid centers
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened as Israeli forces have reportedly targeted Palestinians near aid distribution points. Gaza’s media office claims that at least 549 Palestinians have been killed and over 4,000 injured in the past four weeks while attempting to access aid from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an initiative backed by the US and Israel.
The allegations are supported by a recent investigation published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which cited “shocking confessions” from Israeli soldiers. According to the report, soldiers had orders to shoot unarmed Palestinians near aid centers, even when they posed no threat.
“The Israeli occupation army is pursuing a systematic policy of genocide under the false guise of ‘relief,’” Gaza officials stated.
International condemnation
The medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has added its voice to the growing criticism, calling the aid scheme a “slaughter masquerading as humanitarian aid.” In a strongly worded statement, MSF demanded the operation be immediately halted, warning that the so-called relief efforts are endangering lives rather than providing support. rights groups and local authorities in Gaza have echoed MSF’s concerns, accusing Israel and its allies of weaponizing aid as part of a broader strategy to undermine Palestinian society.
As the humanitarian disaster deepens, calls for accountability and independent investigations into the alleged crimes are growing louder on the global stage.
