Lebanese fuel market shows contrasting trends
Fuel prices in Lebanon showed mixed trends on Tuesday, with a slight increase in gasoline prices but significant decreases in diesel and domestic gas, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Energy and Water.
The new rates are as follows:
- 20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: 1,444,000 Lebanese pounds (+2,000 LL)
- 20 liters of 98-octane gasoline: 1,484,000 LL (+2,000 LL)
- 20 liters of diesel for vehicles: 1,332,000 LL (-32,000 LL)
- Domestic gas cylinder: 1,059,000 LL (-28,000 LL)
- One kiloliter of mazout (used to power private generators): USD 682.69 (-17.69 USD)
Gasoline prices rose slightly compared to last Friday’s rate sheet, while the cost of diesel and gas dropped sharply. Energy costs remain a key concern in Lebanon, where fuel prices fluctuate regularly due to exchange rate instability and global oil market dynamics.
