Moroccan Police Foil Illegal Migration Operation in Agadir
Moroccan authorities successfully dismantled an illegal migration network on Monday in Agadir, arresting a 27-year-old man linked to human trafficking activities. The operation was led by the Anti-Gang Unit of the Agadir Police, in coordination with Morocco's General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The suspect was apprehended while preparing to facilitate an illegal migration operation by sea in exchange for payment. In total, 11 individuals were arrested, including four minors, who had been housed in various locations across Agadir and Inzegan. One of the detained migrants is also wanted in Casablanca on two national arrest warrants. These warrants stem from his alleged involvement in forming a criminal gang, assaulting others with a bladed weapon, and kidnapping.
The arrested individuals, including the minors, remain in custody, with ongoing investigations to uncover further details of the illegal migration ring.
