Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday have reportedly killed 11 people, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense, raising concerns over the fragile ceasefire in the region.

Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, said that six civilians were killed in a strike targeting a group in northern Gaza. The Israeli military stated it is investigating these claims.

An Israeli military official also mentioned the possibility of further airstrikes following three attacks on Israeli troops in the cities of Rafah (south) and Beit Lahia (north). Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that Hamas would pay a heavy price for any attacks against Israeli soldiers or violations of the ceasefire, emphasizing that the Israeli army is determined to protect its forces.

These incidents pose a significant risk to the ceasefire that has been in place since October 10, potentially escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas once again.
