Saudi Arabia maintains alcohol-free policy for 2034 FIFA World Cup

Saudi Arabia has definitively ruled out alcohol sales during the 2034 FIFA World Cup, as confirmed by Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, the country's ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Speaking in an interview with LBC, Prince Khalid outlined a comprehensive ban on alcohol sales across all World Cup venues and hotels throughout the tournament period. The policy reflects Saudi Arabia's established cultural values and legal framework regarding alcohol consumption.

The ambassador emphasized that while visitors are welcome to consume alcohol after departing Saudi Arabia, no exceptions will be made to the country's alcohol regulations during the international sporting event. Drawing an analogy to the nation's arid climate, Prince Khalid expressed Saudi Arabia's commitment to hospitality while maintaining its cultural identity and values.

This announcement follows similar discussions that surrounded alcohol availability during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
