Launched three years ago, Morocco’s e‑visa system has emerged as a cornerstone of the country’s digital modernization strategy, handling nearly 500,000 applications since inception. This initiative enhances Morocco's global appeal by easing entry processes and bolstering both tourism and business travel.

The e‑visa played a key role in supporting major international events hosted in Morocco: the 2023 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Marrakech (covering applicants from 109 nationalities), GITEX Africa Morocco 2024 (118 nationalities), and GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 (117 nationalities).

Tourism numbers remain strong, with 8.9 million arrivals recorded by end of June 2025, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2024, an addition of 1.4 million visitors.

In 2024, e‑visa usage surged, with 187,895 applications processed, signalling growing adoption among travelers. Of the total e‑visas granted, 94.1% were for tourism and 5.9% for business, demonstrating their valuable contribution to economic diplomacy.

The service now covers 118 nationalities and offers expedited processing times: 3 days for standard e‑visas and just 24 hours for express requests. With these achievements, Morocco positions its e‑visa as a flagship tool of its policy to attract visitors and host large-scale global events.
